Serpentines wind around the mountain, which is entered in the maps under the name Penegal. If you follow the signs of the same name at the height of the Mendola Pass, after a few kilometres you reach the newly renovated PanoramaHotel Penegal, which has recently been under new management. As part of the Mendel ridge, the mountain peak is 1737 metres high and offers visitors a breathtaking panorama consisting of the Brenta group to the southwest, the Ortler group to the west and the Dolomites to the east. Lake Kaltern, one of the largest lakes in South Tyrol, also shrinks to a reflective blob from up here.
